This land so dear to me
The only aspect that inspires true meaning before the meaningless I
Rangyul Ladags
Where the people’s values try to live upto the majesty of the mountains
Where there is still reverence for nature and culture
Where ‘Om Mani Padme Hung’ and the Azaan flow beautifully in the same air
Where I was born
Where I shall die
A place that has made me who I am
A place that inspires me to be more than just me
A place that you will not leave without wonder
But a place that must be left as is,
In the hands of the people who have called this place home,
who have nurtured the trees in a cold desert,
sheltered the dogs who are elsewhere trapped,
who value values in a world that only knows monetary value,
who are far from perfect,
but try to be compassionate
who know that everything is impermanent,
not everyone ofcourse, but you get the ethos
Though I will one day accept the impermanence of this form,
To accept the impermanence of my yul is to me a cause of pain.
Hence, I pray that day never comes.
I pray this land remains blessed forever whether or not I am reborn here.
For there is no place like Rangyul
